Fayetteville, N.C. – On March 11, 2026, at approximately 9:18 p.m., Fayetteville Police Department officers responded to a crash at the intersection of King Road and Windfall Lane involving a motorcycle and a Chevrolet Silverado.
The motorcycle, a 2009 Yamaha, was operated by 38-year-old Daniel Zachery Vanherpen of Hope Mills, NC.
He was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries. The Silverado was driven by 62-year-old Dale Bradley White of Fayetteville, NC.
The initial investigation indicated that White made a left turn into the path of Vanherpen’s motorcycle.
White was charged with Unsafe Movement Causing Serious Injury to a Motorcyclist and Misdemeanor Death by Motor Vehicle. He is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $275,000 secure bond.
King Road between Stoney Point Road and Mesquite Drive was closed following the crash, and motorists were advised to use alternate routes. The Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit is leading the ongoing investigation.
