Fayetteville, N.C. – A woman died after Fayetteville police responded to a reported physical disturbance involving multiple people at a Golden Corral restaurant on Skibo Road.
The Fayetteville Police Department said officers were dispatched to the restaurant at approximately 2:34 p.m. following reports of a physical disturbance and possible shots fired.
Preliminary findings indicated that a physical altercation involving multiple individuals occurred inside the restaurant. Police said investigators have not confirmed whether any shots were fired during the incident.
When officers arrived, they located an unresponsive adult female and immediately began life-saving measures. The woman was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.
According to police, the woman suffered a medical emergency during the incident that was not related to the initial physical altercation. Detectives are now working to establish the sequence of events and are coordinating with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the official cause and manner of her death.
The investigation remained active and ongoing. The Golden Corral restaurant and its parking lot were shut down while detectives continued processing the scene and gathering information.
