Fayetteville, N.C. – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday, March 9, 2026, at approximately 10:50 p.m. along the 700 block of Blue Street.
The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Tony Itmus Chance of Fayetteville, NC. His next of kin have been notified.
Officers responded to reports of the shooting and found Chance suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Homicide Unit is actively investigating the incident.
